PRAIRIE DOG BROWNIES SUBSCRIBER GIVEAWAY & "SNOOPING" EPI.3

Hi Friends!!
The Video Above is more for Entertainment Value
Then it is for an actual Recipe. You have gone to the right place to find it....HERE :-)

Note: Please contact me by EMAIL For a Quicker Response if you have ANY Questions, I aim to Help!! KnowWhatMomKnows@Gmail.Com

For those that wish to Purchase a Custom Box of this Treat, or ANY Other Treat you may have in mind, please contact me by email to talk about terms. I ONLY Do Custom Word of Mouth Jobs now and have taken down my Website where I used to sell. My Son has requested of me to work on doing Youtube Videos and sharing with him and the world, the things in life that I KNOW How to do (or that I am learning how to do).

And NOW for the Recipe:

Ingredients

PRAIRIE DOG BROWNIES

1 STICK PLUS 2 Tablespoons of Real Unsalted Butter

1 1/4 cup. sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened regular cocoa powder

1/4 cup unsweetened Dark Cocoa powder

1/4 tsp sea salt

1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1/4 cup plus 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour

1/4 cup plus 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 or 2 Cups Lightly Toasted Pecans (Use more or less nuts)

2 Cups Warmed Caramels (MELTED, DO NOT USE ICE CREAM SAUCE)
Homemade OR Buy Store Bought
Caramels, unwrap and melt to drizzle onto the brownies.

Milk, Dark or White Chocolate-Tempered Melted Chocolate
(If you do not know how to temper chocolate, use microwavable candy melts (its NOT real chocolate, but if you do not know how
to temper chocolate, this is the next best thing)

NOTE: I plan to create another video next year on HOW to make Caramels and HOW to Temper Chocolate.....be watching :-)

-------------------------

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line an 8x8 square pan with foil, leaving an overhang on two sides (you will pull them out of the pan this way).

2.In a medium heatproof bowl, combine butter, sugar, cocoa and salt. Heat gently in a Double Boiler, OR Microwave gently just until everything is melted. Stir with a spatula until mixture is smooth. It will look gritty but once it cools a bit and add the remaining ingredients, it smoothes out.

3. Stir in vanilla. Then add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. The batter will become smooth and shiny- this is what you want. Slowly add in the FIRST Section of flour, mix until it begins to disappear. Now add the SECOND Addition of Flour. Stir the brownies 25 turns and then stop

4.  Pour  the batter into foil-lined pan, spread evenly.

5. Place in oven and bake for 31 minutes EXACTLY.
Remove from oven and place on top of a wire rack to cool FOR ONE WHOLE MINUTE ONLY!!  Lift up the long ends of the foil and remove from the pan. Set aside to cool at least 1 hour. DO NOT CUT INTO SQUARES WHILE HOT!! To do so can cause steam to rise, drying out your brownies. Now, if its just YOU and your direct family...ha ha, dig in....we have done it too. But if you mean to make the BEST And MOIST Fudgy Brownies Ever, then you will WAIT!!

6. Once Cooled, cut into Small brownies and place onto a sheet of wax paper that is very lightly buttered or oiled. Or you can use a rack to set the brownies onto it.

7. Drizzle the melted caramel over the brownies

8. Top with LIGHTLY Toasted Pecan Halves.

9.  Pick up EACH Brownie and dip the bottoms into melted Tempered Chocolate or Candy Wafers.
Place on lightly oiled parchment paper or waxed paper.

10. Drizzle the Melted Chocolate Over the Brownies.

ENJOY AFTER CHOCOLATE SETS OR STORE FOR LATER CONSUMPTION :-)

(EPI.2) DIY "FAUX" WOOD GRAIN BREAD DOUGH BEADS

Hi Friends!!
As Promised here is the information for the:
BREAD DOUGH BEADS!!
I will be posting the WOOD FINISH RECIPE In another Blog Post due to the fact I feel this DOES Warrant its OWN Video. I will be following up and posting one hopefully before the end of this year (just a few days :-)  )
In the Video you can follow along as the recipe is simply white bread, about 5 slices of bread to equal 4 ounces worth, some Dish Washing Liquid, and then some Simple White School Glue!! The just of the recipe is really NOT a recipe, but a Guideline....Simply take off the crusts and discard them or use them to create your tan and color of dough. Add in a Good Drizzle of Glue, a small Drizzle of Liquid Soap and some coloring if you you want and MAYBE A dot or two of water. Just hand mix together until you make dough!! You can add more bread crumbs if it is to wet, or add more glue or water if it is to dry!! Add in food coloring or organic root powder for coloring, some even use poster paint :-).
So now, you make whatever kinds of bead or jewlery as desired. In my video I show you HOW to make a Wood Grain Bead that can be attached to a Wooden Handle for those who like to do wooden projects. My BIG Tip is that you will NEED To remember that the beads Do dry overnight or so.....but that they reduce in size...like allot!!! So if you want to make a bead like for placing onto a necklace, make the hole LARGER Than expected or needed. Also, if you want to make a Bead for your Wooden Handle, I suggest wrapping the handle with LOTS Of Waxed Paper so that when you wrap the dough around it to get the size you need....the wax paper will act as a HELP to you, so that you do NOT make your bead too small. This way, after you let it dry around the wax paper over night, take the bead off of the handle, then take the bead and RE Place it BACK onto the Handle, and continue to let it dry yet another 24 Hours. The bead will continue to shrink, just enuf to "fit" just perfectly around your handle....WALLA!!! :-)

I hope this helps, and feel free to contact me at my Email for A QUICKER Response!! I aim to help where I can :-)

Hi To All My Readers and YouTube Viewers of my NEW Show "Know What Mom Knows"!!
As Promised, here is the Recipe featured in Episode #1. Here is the LINK to the Mini Movie that I am Talking About:

Step by Step Directions are given inside the YouTube Video

Here is the Written Recipe:

Pumpkin Caramel Pecan Pie

 Pumpkin Caramel Sauce:

Use only FRESH Spices ( if you have had your spices more than one year, replace them)
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Allspice
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Gloves
1/2 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg~(Use an Actual Nutmeg "Nut" and grate it yourself, if you can)
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 Cup Liquid Heavy Cream
5 Tablespoons of Unsalted Butter
1 1/4 Teaspoon Sea Salt (or Kosher)
1/2 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Corn Syrup
1 1/2 Cups White Granulated Sugar
1 Cup Pumpkin Puree (Fresh or Canned is fine)

For the Pecans:

Use 1 1/2 Cups Pecans That are Whole or Half in size. Chopped can be used but not recommended.
*NOTE: The Video states to Lightly Toast the Pecans~DO NOT TOAST THE NUTS~The Nuts will Toast enough while baking.

For the Filling:

4 Tablespoons of Melted Butter
4 Large Eggs
1/2 Cup White Granulated Sugar
1/4 Cup Corn Syrup
1/4 Teaspoon Sea Salt (or Kosher) +Additional Salt for Topping
1/4 Cup Water
2 Teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract

For the Crust

One Deep Dish Pie Crust~Frozen
*Use 1 Egg White to brush onto the frozen crust before Filling

Instructions:

1) Bring to a Simmer the Spice blend with the cream, butter & Salt. Do not boil. Set aside.

2) In a small heavy saucepan stir the following over Medium Heat until sugar is liquefied: 1 1/4 Teaspoon Sea Salt (or Kosher)
1/2 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Corn Syrup
1 1/2 Cups White Granulated Sugar

3) Turn heat to Med/High and place a lid onto the pot for exactly 2 Minutes.
4) Take lid off of heat and caramelize the sugar mixture. When sugar starts to Caramelize, swirl pan gently.
5) Turn heat OFF and add the cream mixture, stir well, then add the Pumpkin Puree.
*NOTE: Take Note that this step is Dangerous! Steam burns can happen, so be watchful as you add in the cream and pumpkin. The Melted Sugar will bubble up and is very HOT!

6) After the mixture has been stirred together well, turn on the heat again to medium heat. Stir continuously for the next 5 minutes, then set aside to come to room temperature.

7) In  Medium Sized Bowl add the FILLING Ingredients and the full amount of Pumpkin Caramel Sauce, Stir Well.

NOTE: This Section may be different from the Video in that 3 Options are given here instead of just one.

NOTE: OPTION (C) IS OUR FAMILY'S FAVORITE WAY TO MAKE THIS PIE!

NOW FOR THE 3 OPTIONS

Option (A)
Add the Pecans to the Filling Mixture.  Then pour this into your Frozen Pie Crust and bake in a PRE Heated Oven for 35 to 45 Minutes. Placing a Sheet of Foil over the Pie half way.  Pie is done when it Jiggles like Jello and filling will look puffed up some.  If you have areas that are still liquidy, then continue to bake. Watch that you do not burn the crust or the pie.

Option (B)
Do NOT add the Pecans to the Filling. Then pour your filling into your Frozen Pie Crust and bake in a PRE Heated Oven for 35 to 45 Minutes. Placing a Sheet of Foil over the Pie half way.  Pie is done when it Jiggles like Jello and filling will look puffed up some.  If you have areas that are still liquidy, then continue to bake. Watch that you do not burn the crust or the pie.
Now Toast your Pecans and add the Nuts to a  8 ounce Jar of Caramel Sauce or even make extra of the Pumpkin Caramel Sauce from Above and mix the nuts into one Cup of it.  Now, after the Pie has been cooled to at least room temperature, spread the Caramel Sauced Pecans over the Pie.
*NOTE: You can ALSO use option  (B) If you burn your pecans while baking Option (A). You can take the burned nuts off of the pie and "Fix" your pie by now following Option (B).

OPTION (C)
Do NOT add the Pecans to the Filling. Then pour your filling into your Frozen Pie Crust and bake in a PRE Heated Oven for 35 to 45 Minutes. Placing a Sheet of Foil over the Pie half way.  Pie is done when it Jiggles like Jello and filling will look puffed up some.  If you have areas that are still liquidy, then continue to bake. Watch that you do not burn the crust or the pie. Bring Pie to at least room temperature before proceeding to the next step.

Now Toast your Pecans and set them aside for a moment.
In a small Heavy Saucepan add a 1/2 Cup of White Granulated Sugar. Turn your heat on Medium High.  Using a Wooden Spoon, push around the sugar until it starts to caramelize and melt. Stir and liquefy the sugar. Now add in the Toasted Pecans, a Tablespoon of Real Butter and a Small splash of Liquid Whipping Cream.  Turn off the heat and stir well. Be careful as the steam an burn you.  Now
place the Candied Pecans ontop of the pie, trying your best to spread them about while they are still warm using a fork.  Once the nuts cool, the melted caramelized sugar will harden and the top of your pie will be brittle. Do not think that your pie is ruined!! As a matter of fact this has become my most FAVORITE Way to make this particular pie.  To slice the pie it takes a bit of extra effort, but it will slice into beautiful pieces.  The candy shell is not impossible to eat as the pecans are soft, and once your bite into a fork full of candied nuts with pumpkin caramel filling, you will feel as if you died and went to Heaven :-)

To Eat this Pie, Please slightly warm it (it will taste better this way)
Refrigerate any leftovers upto 3 days or freeze pie upto one month.

Hello, My Name is Shelly and I have started this Blog to talk about my life and what I know.  To be more exact, I want to share with you the knowledge that I have that is more specifically catered to my Son Asher who is on the brink of Adulthood. I even started a Youtube Channel named "Know What Mom Knows" so that I can be able to impart my wisdom and know-how to my son. Like so many other children in society, kids are being raised in broken homes and for one reason or another are left with only one parent still in the house. It doesn't mean that the other parent does not love them and does not want to share their life with the child. I can relate as I myself have gone thru a Divorce and have seen first hand how this has affected my son.  I am now married to a wonderful man and my life has had its bumps along the way, but overall I feel fulfilled and happy. Saying that, the one area that has left a crushing hole in my heart is the fact that due to the Divorce I wasn't always their for my son to teach him the many things about ME and what I could of taught him all these years. I live in North Dakota, and my son lives in Texas. I in fact ended up in North Dakota along with my new Husband due to a Hurricane, Hurricane Ike.  Since then I was in a Horrible and Life Changing accident that left me paralyzed on my left leg. I almost died several times due to this accident. I am now disabled and if it were not for my wonderful Husband volunteering to take care of me round the clock, I would for sure be in a nursing home. Everything I do now, living daily life, hobbies or other, is dependent on the fact that Shane helps me with all that I do. I have never blamed God for what has happened to me, as a matter of fact I look at my life as "why not" me. I am a strong individual who has unwavering faith in the Lord to take care of me no matter what life comes my way. I keep on living life and I live my life knowing that I still have a purpose in living, and not merely surviving. I now use my paralyzing situation with my leg in such a way that I have become a living testimony to Gods Goodness. I can DO life, and not just Survive it. Life is an action word and I intend to live it to the fullest, I just need help along the way in doing just that.  When I face things in life that I am unsure of doing, I remind myself of the TRUTH of what Gods word has pointed out to me:

Joshua 1:9  “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

My NEW YouTube Show "Know What Mom Knows" is NOW OPEN And my MOVIE TRAILER was just released this last week. I will now begin posting new shows on a regular basis but without an actual particular start date to each air date. I aim to encourage others with my inspiring story of living life to its fullest while in the dire situation I face every day. I have a real passion for helping others. I want to show with practical application that if I can reach out and help the Homeless and Helpless of our Society that is all around us, than anybody can. If I can do it, we ALL can do it. My DIY's on Woodworking, Cooking, Soaping and more are set to entertain while encourage others to really start living the life that they were given and to not be affraid to try new things. We are all in this together and we can all learn from one another. Let me start by showing you, what Mom Knows :-)
I thank you for your time in reading this and I hope you have the BEST WEEK EVER!!!

Fossilized Oyster Shell~Clyde Slide Soap Challenge

Are You Ready to see my Entry for the Contest? Well here you go!!

My Entry of "The Slide Clyde" Technique

I have decided to call this soap submission:
FOSSILIZED OYSTER SHELL SOAP

I have named my soap Fossilized Oyster Shell Soap Due to the Fact that it appears to have the "Look" of Actual Oyster Shells running all thru my soap batch. Yes, I even found several pictures online that helped me realize that this was indeed the BEST Name for my soap!! The Local Hutterite Clan here in North Dakota has within its lovely group, some teenagers that are in need of a special skin soap for their Acne and Blemished Faces. So I used a fantastic mixture of different additives some mentioned here are Seaweed Kelp, Rose Hip Oil, Vitamin Blend Vitaplex and a fantastic mixture of Theriputic Essential Oils specifically to help such skin issues. Their is no scent added except it does have a natural scent from the essential oils and a wonderful aroma of Lavender, Tea Tree and Peppermint.

Here is a quick look at whats inside the soap and is not exhaustive to protect my own personal Recipe, but this will give you an idea:

Tea Tree Oil~ provides generous amounts of terpinen, the active ingredient responsible for the oil’s amazing antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal abilities and anti-inflammatory properties. Tea Tree oil helps thwart any acne flare-ups before they get nasty.
Rosemary Essential Oil~ this often overlooked herb does wonders for revitalizing skin. It’s well known for its abilities to reduce excess oil on skin. Rosemary also contains anti-inflammatory properties known to ease redness and puffiness, which is perfect for treating breakouts. Besides helping to clear skin, rosemary also improves circulation, which can help firm and tone.
Lavender Essential Oil~ is commonly used as a burn salve and as a natural cleanser for skin cuts and abrasions as well. It contains properties that help accelerate the wound healing process. This means it may also help accelerate the healing of existing acne lesions.
Peppermint Essential Oil~ When applied on your skin, it de-congests the pores and gently cleans it. The cooling action of peppermint oil when applied on acne also helps soothe the irritation and itchiness that severe cases of acne can bring.
Echinacea Extract~ has been used for wounds and skin problems, such as acne or boils.
Rosehip Oil~ its use has been proven effective in repairing acne scars as well as other forms of scars and skin blemishes.  it may very well be useful in treating acne even if the sufferer is typically highly sensitive to products that may be oily. Many consider rosehip oil (or rosehip oil based products) to be better than commercial anti-acne products. Rosehip oil provides for a natural alternative to creams and ointments that may or may not be good for the skin.

Thanks to Amy Warden for this Fantastic Soap Challenge and I look Forward to Other Great Adventures Along the Way!!

UPDATE: I was a whole ONE MINUTE LATE on getting my soap entered into the contest so my soap never did actually get in. Nobody gets to vote on my soap and oh well, I just need to be faster on the draw next time. Saying that, this was fun to create this soap and I hope ALL that get a chance to see it will enjoy my description and appearance. It is still a fun read :-)
