AN UPDATED ABOUT ME PAGE

My YouTube Channel (KNOW WHAT MOM KNOWS), along with My Life, is not what you would expect. No small children living at my home. Instead, let me give you a brief rundown of what I am all about and where I am going. On August 6th 2012 I was involved in a Life Changing Accident where I was given a 2nd Chance at life as a whole. All the details will not be provided just yet, I plan in the near couple of months ahead, to provide a Mini Movie about that day and why I care so much about the Homeless and the Helpless that are all around us. But to give you the "Just" of things, I almost killed a Lovely Lady Named Hazel in a 3 Way Car Accident. That alone, would have changed me forever, but instead, God sent an Angel to save both her and myself. This event opened up a Door for Hazel to Receive Jesus as her Personal Lord and Savior later that morning. Then, One Hour Later, almost to the very Minute, I was alone, Miles from Town and at a Storage Unit. I was about a full football field away from any homes if not farther and between 2 storage buildings and about at least a half of a football field away from the road. So I was very closed off and out of site by all that could have heard me cry out or even see me. God himself showed up at 11:15 that hot yet windy morning with Fluffy Clouds filling the Sky. Why am I talking about the Clouds? That is because it is the View that I had while I lay on the ground dying, looking up to the sky while on the Phone with my Husband, saying Goodbye. He was many states away, on a Semi Truck. No car accident happened, no altercations with a murdering and selfish person or group of ppl, nothing out of the ordinary that would make such an accident happen. The Doctor that cared for me later that day, told me that my injury was worse than most of the Car accidents that he has ever seen. For those of you who are of Faith and of like mindedness with Christ, you will understand what I am about to say next. God himself showed up that morning and although I could not see him, I felt his presence to the Left Side of me, I could FEEL him. He Spoke to me the following words ~"Michelle, I was there for you Before this Happened, I am here for you Now, Don't Ask Why “~God was referring to what happened one hour early on when he sent an Angel to prevent me from Crashing into Hazels Car with my Car. And then within minutes of the accident (because she still got hit by another car) God made an opportunity for me to Pray with her and Hazel gave her life to Jesus that day! Now to date, I have never asked God "WHY" Did he allow me to have such a horrible and life altering accident. But thru the journey I took he has led me to a place in my life where I am able to help others in a way I would have never had the opportunity to do so otherwise. I have always been a giver and a lover of ppl, and I give Glory to God for this opportunity to serve him in a most special way. God did NOT hurt me, God did not cause my accident to happen, but what God did was allow this accident to happen and then turn it around so that I would have a most wonderful and awesome testimony to share with others, in combination with the Gospel, to see His Kingdom Grow! I see a plan for my future and in the next several months I will not only be uploading a video about my Injury, but I will be announcing a Worldwide Collaboration to help the Homeless and the Helpless who are all around us. I pray that God's will be done, no matter the Journey and the road that I feel led to walk upon. Currently I am paralyzed in my Left leg with extended injuries throughout my body. I have a Scar that runs down the inside of my leg where the Surgeon had to cut me open and sew the Main Artery back together. I would be living in a Nursing Home as I need 24 hour Care, yet, my Darling Husband of 10 Years stopped working in the professional world to come home and take care of me so that I would have the opportunity to stay out of the Nursing Home. My Son, who is just turned 18, he is in his last year of High School down in Texas. While visiting last summer, Asher and I had such an amazing couple of weeks together. Together we did many scratch cooking, old fashioned soap making and other Craft projects together. We had a real blast! When he went back to Texas, he said to me that he was sad because he wants to KNOW how to do the things in life that I KNOW How to do. So, between him and I, we came up with the YouTube Channel KNOW WHAT MOM KNOWS. So, going forward, My Channel is about either the things in Life that I know about, or about the things in life that I am learning about. But either way, my Son Asher will get to see ME and He will get to learn more about his Mom. Right now my videos have been mainly about Woodworking and Cooking. In the near future I intend to present segments on Old Fashioned Soaping, and Segments on giving of oneself to help the Homeless and the Helpless. I just started my channel about 4 months ago and am just getting started with it. For those of you who wonder HOW I can make videos while being paralyzed, well, it is because I have a fantastic support system from my Husband Shane. He sets up my shots, does most of the videotaping, and helps me tear down my shots. One video for me can take 1 to 6 weeks to produce. I am slower than your average YouTuber. Saying that, I plug along because of the WHO is watching and cheering me on. My Son Asher is such a strong force in my world that I would do anything for him; even make YouTube videos while being paralyzed :-) Thanks to everybody who has taken the time to read this post and to be a part of my life :-) To God be the Glory Forever and Ever Amen!!

FOODIE FRIDAY: Spaetzle Noodle DIY W/ Mom & 3 Homemade Meals

SPAETZLE NOODLES

3 Large Eggs

1/2 teaspoon Kosher or Sea Salt ~ (in a pinch you can use regular table salt)

1/2 Cup Water 

1 3/4 All~Purpose Flour

Boiling Salted Water

And depending on WHAT you do with your spaetzle, if you simply want to use it as a side dish or even in a main dish, you will need about 2 Tablespoon Butter OR Olive oil.

Parsley is an optional item, but I love Parsley in with this spaetzle. Fresh OR Dried

For Variety u can use Milk or even Sour Cream for the Liquid :-) 

In a bowl, beat together until very well blended the eggs, salt, water and flour. Feel free to alternate ingredients for ease of blending! Bring a Large Kettle or Stock Pot of salt water (or broth or soup) to a Boil. For a Large Pot of Water, use about 1 Tablespoon of Salt. Place a Colander Strainer with Large Holes over the Boiling Water so that the bottom of the colander is about 2 to 3 inches above the water level. You do NOT want the colander to be sitting on top of the water. Keep in mind as water boils, it can rise up some. Or, you can use a Spaetzle Maker from a Specialty Shop. Ladle about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the batter into the colander Strainer and then force the batter thru the holes by pressing with a large spoon or rubber spatula. You want the batter to fall into the water as little droplets of dough. When Spaetzle floats to the surface, it is almost done cooking. Give it a quick stir, wait about 10 SECONDS. Do NOT dump out your boiling liquid, instead, use a small strainer or slotted spoon, and take out the noodles, and then RE FILL the colander with more batter and continue this process until ALL the batter has been used up and cooked.

You CAN make this ahead, Cool, cover and refrigerate for as long as 3 Days or Freeze for as long as 2 Months. This Recipe serves 4 to 6 people as SIDE Dishes, Or as used within a Main Dish it will serve 2 to 4 People.

***Note***

Shane and I LOVE Spaetzle so much, that when him and I make it, we OFTEN Will eat one whole batch of this no matter WHAT Application we use it in, side dish or main :-)

TIP:

Many ppl make it this way, I do too, but did simple for this particular video so that everyone would for sure have the ingredients to try making it . What ever you choose for the liquid, just make sure that your mixture is neither too thick, or too thin....it has to be able to sit inside the strainer for a few seconds without all pouring out of it, and then it also has to be thin enough to squeeze thro the holes of the strainer. For EXTRA fancy, they DO sell in Specialty shops...an actual Spaetzle Machine, but they cost a lot and do the same thing a .99 cent strainer will do from the dollar store :-) ))

TIP:

You CAN make Spaetzle ahead, place it in almost a single layer on top of some wax paper on a sheet pan, and freeze it. Then place the noodles into a freezer bag to pull out whenever you are ready for it. No need to thaw!

WOODWORK WED. DIY NATURAL WOOD FINISH HAND CREAM EPI 3

1/2 CUP COCONUT OIL~1/2 CUP WALNUT OIL~2 TABLESPOONS COCOA BUTTER~LANOLIN (ALSO CALLED WOOL WAX) 2 TABLESPOONS~2 OUNCES OF BEESWAX. Essential Oils I USED, But You Can Use Them Or Leave Them Out Were (Pink Grapefruit,Lemon, Tea Tree, Rosemary, Birch, Clove, Eucalyptus, Peppermint And Cinnamon) Essential Oils Used At A Dilution Rate Of 3% Per Liquid Ounce, That is 3 to 4 DROPS per Liquid Ounce Created.....Safe Enough For Young Children, The Elderly and Anyone With Medical Issues. Allergies Can Happen At Any Age, So In DOUBT, Talk To Your Doctor Before Using. You may use ONE Essential Oil, Or A Combination.....but Feel Free To Ask Me Any Questions And Or Do Your Own Research....And Or Ask Your Own Doctor. My Recipe Is To Be Created At Ones Own Use And Full Risk. I Can Not Be Responsible For Undesirable Outcomes To Any End User. I Am Not A Doctor And I Often Use Essential Oils As A Hobbiest. Sorry I was Late Posting This On My Blog Everyone!!! Had a Super Busy Last Day or So :-) Melt Down Into A Double Boiler On The Stove Or Gently Microwave!!! Do Not Get Any Water Into The Mixture!! Place Into Containers ( I did several 3 Ounce Containers.....I think 5....but sorry, I forgot to keep track exactly) Use on ANY Inside Wood Items That You May Have....Including Cutting Boards!! Condition Your Wood Items Often AS Needed To Prevent Dryness. Use On Hands And On Lips As A Natural Protector Against This Harsh winter!! Great Question Shane!! Let me Explain Further for you: Using Essential Oils in a combination is just like using lots of ingredients when cooking a meal. Many herbs and spices, for an example say to make Lasagna, add a depth of flavor the meal, making it more memorable. If you JUST use BASIL for an example, the dish would be OK in flavor, but very one note and you just would not have that WOW factor. Where, if I add Basil, Oregano and Garlic, for an example, your mouth would taste the depth of flavor and the combination together will make your Lasagna be more memorable. So, with Essential Oils, it is very much the same thing. Yes, you CAN use just one simple Essential Oil. Many ppl do, and for many that would be TEA TREE OIL. This is powerhouse oil. An Antibacterial and it would also help make it difficult for the fly’s and bugs to want to come around. Saying that, often ppl do NOT like the odor that comes from using Tea Tree Oil. So, even though it WORKS, it isn’t the most ideal for making the one using it a pleasant experience. So, now add in some Peppermint, Lemon Oil, Cinnamon Oil and Rosemary Oil just to state a few. Now your combined oils would add another element of strength as well as be very pleasing to the one making the combination as well as others who use the product later will have a more enjoyable experience. This is why I stated in the Video that the Essential Oils Used are what I would like to use, but you at home can feel free to use a different blend, or just use Tea Tree Oil. What is MOST important is that you use a blend of oils in a SAFE manner according to a Dilution Rate that works for you and your project at hand. I can use 10 Essential Oils, or ONE Essential Oils but I MUST use Caution when using the drops and take care to use a SAFE Dilution Rate. I talk in the Video that babies can only handle 3 to 4 Drops per Liquid Ounce, where A HEALTHY Adult can handle 15 drops to 60 drops per liquid ounce it is added to. Now, this would be per say if I were making a Massage Blend or Hand Cream. I mean, I am in a way, I am making a Wood Finish that is ALSO A Hand Cream. But The END PRODUCT For My DIY was meant to first be a wood finish, and then secondary be a Hand Cream. So yes, one must make sure to KNOW who will be using the product that is made and for what. If I give this Wood Finish to A woodworker that uses the finish on a cracker platter or a potato bin, that is great, but many ppl would have access to these items. This is why in the video I talk about being safe and I made the Wood Finish Hand Cream SAFE with a diluted amount of essential oils that are SAFE enough for a baby to be around. And if it is used as a Hand Cream, the Hand Cream is NOW SAFE enough to be used on children all the way up to Adults. Of course one would still need to consider if they are allergic to essential oils and if so then they should NOT use the hand cream. But if you KNOW that the only person who will be using this Wood Finish and Hand Cream is your Dad, per say, for his cracked hands from working in his Wood Shop…then by all means feel free to add in some extra essential oil if out would like. But if he wanted to USE the cream for projects, then I say its better to think SAFETY and make sure to add a diluted rate of Essential Oils due to the fact that ANYBODY could end up touching the wood project that he has created. So ya, great Question That came from Shane. And I thank Shane for his Comment!!
